So Taylor and I decided for our Christmas present this year we would do a Babymoon. Really I wanted to do a babymoon and he was humoring me. I have loved traveling and going to visit new places, I was lucky enough to have those experiences growing up. Travel stresses Taylor out, he's type of travel is going to the Dunes or camping somewhere. He finally gave in because after baby boy it will be much move difficult to do any kind of travel.
So we went to Cabo. We stayed at Melia Cabo Real Golf Resort. We had some friends stay there and said they enjoyed it so we decided to go there. It was a fabulous Resort. It is all inclusive resort, which I had never done before and LOVED. Because it is all inclusive, tips and things are included so you would think the staff wouldn't be as great as they were. The staff was Amazing! They were so nice and kind, they were helpful and very willing to do whatever you liked. They would constantly fill your drinks and take your plates and waite on you hand and foot. The only complaint I have about the resort is the beds! The beds were like CONCRETE, and I am not exaggerating at all. You would sit down and the bed didn't move. Luckily we had lots of pillows so we survived the bad beds and loved the wonderful resort.

So we arrived on January 13, 2013 very late. We didn't get to the hotel until after 10pm (Mexico Time). It was warm and very pleasant. We just had to be in a light jacket because of the ocean breeze. We got all checked in and dropped off our bags and went looking for food. The served nachos and quesadillas late at night, we had to wait until 11pm for the food to open. We walked around the resort for a bit and then went to the Lobby Bar and ordered our quesadillas. These are no regular quesadillas. They brought out these plates filled with 6-8 slices of the most delicious mozzarella quesadillas have ever tasted with sides of guacamole and pico that were delicious. I devoured them. haha
The next morning (Monday) we went to plan all of our excursions. There were 3 concierge at our hotel, plus the people on the beach so we shopped around. Since we booked our trip through Expedia, we ended up using him to book our excursions. With them we felt safe with the product and they were not pushing us to do the Resort Class. We booked 2 excursions, Dune Buggies and surfing. We had googled the dune buggies before we had gone and decided to do that, then Taylor fulfilled a life long dream and did a surfing lesson. After we got some of our excursions settled we went to the beach and the pool. It had been chilly that morning, it was 68 degrees but had a wind off the ocean. By the time we were done booking the excursions it was wonderful out side, there was still a breeze but it felt so good to be in your swim suit walking the beach in the beautiful sunshine. We played by the beach and pool the rest of the day, I even got a little burnt. Being at the hotel the hole day was not good for our eating habits. We ate more food then I can even explain. Buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner with amazing things to choose from... it was to hard to limit yourself. We hate SOO much that first day but I was so very worth it. We then went to the hotels Mexican Lottery night, it is Bingo but in Spanish pretty much. I won the first game but another person had the same card so we flipped for the prize an I lost :(. The 2nd and 3rd game I was 1 tile away from winning. It was a lot of fun and people there were hilarious! The drinks are free too so we got lots of Cokes and virgin Miami Vices, there were amazing as well. We went to bed exhausted and happy.
On Tuesday we did Dune Buggies, they picked us up at the hotel and headed out about 45mins away. We didn't think it would be a big deal with me being pregnant but I was a little scary. It wasn't all riding on the beach like we thought so it was more bumpy then we expected. Luckily we got me a better seat half way through and it was a lot more relaxing. When we first got to the place they took us in to get pictures with a parrot, it was cool but our pictures look a little awkward. We then learned about some of the vegetation and local wildlife. We got to see and take pictures with an iguana and a crocodile. It was pretty cool. Then we saddled up in the buggies and took off. They don't believe in break in or learning curves. We hit the gas and didn't let off. Luckily Taylor was driving and was able to keep up :). We rode out to a beautiful canyon that used to have a river in it. It was cool to learn about the history of the canyon and the culture of Cabo. The buggies were really trashed but they did go pretty fast. The best part was when we went out onto the beach. We came over the crest and immediately saw a few whales spraying water out off the coast. We drove and played a lot around the area and it was so much fun. We stopped and were able to go inside a cave right off the beach. We went in and it was mesmerizing. It is hard to see in the pictures because it was dark but it was cool being in a cave, knowing that in a few hours the tide would change and once again it would be underwater. We watched the whales and played on the beach for a bit before heading back. We were so dirty by the time we got back we took LONG showers and headed to dinner.
Wednesday we had decided to go down to the main marina and try to book a snorkel tour. That was the main thing I wanted to do on this trip, whale watching and snorkeling. We took the bus from our hotel (Mexican drives are INSANE! so it was nice being safe on a bus). We walked to the marina and it is beautiful! Many cruise ships stop at the Cabo San Lucas port and the boats and harbor there are beautiful. We walked in and started walking down, we found a guy to buy a snorkel tour from and Taylor worked his magic :). The guy laughed after we bought the tour and asked Taylor what he did back home, Taylor answered sales and the guy smiled and said he had figured. He told Taylor he was very good at what he does :). We went on the tour and were able to see Lover's beach (beach on this side of the famous Cabo Arch, divorce beach is on the pacific ocean side or the opposite side of the Arch), The famous Arch which separates the pacific ocean from the sea of cortez, whale watching, and snorkeling by the reef. We had a baby whale jumping and playing right by our boat as we were headed out. Our driver stopped and let us all watch for quite a while, it was so cool. Then the mom showed up and swam right next to the baby. It was AWESOME, I loved it, pictures just can't do it justice. The snorkeling was fun, the water was cold but you got used to it. The fish were out and were not afraid of you, they'd get so close! I got motion sick on the way out so snorkeling was a little hard but we still had fun. I didn't think I would get sick but apparently pregnancy does weird things to you :). The served a fabulous taco lunch and then it turned into a booze cruise on the way back, which was entertaining.

Thursday was Taylor's favorite day! It was surf lesson day, the warmest day we had so far and he was so excited. They picked us up early and we headed to Cerittos Beach, a famous surf beach. Luckily for us the waves were not huge so it was easier for Taylor to learn. It was a 7hr lesson and since I was not participating I was worried about being bored. The 7hrs flew by for both of us! I had so much fun in the water and taking pictures, I pulled my book out 1 time for less then 10min. It was awesome. It was pretty much a 1 on 1 lesson, they took them out and taught them the basics. The surfed for several hours then after lunch they went out on their own and used what they learned. I couldn't stop smiling because Taylor couldn't wipe the smile off his face, he had so much fun. He had to sit in the hot tub when we got back to relax his muscles but still didn't stop smiling.
Friday we went into town and it was the hottest day of the week. We shopped until we dropped and had a blast. We got what we wanted and Tay was successful at bartering with all the locals. Taylor got a few t-shirts, I got a swim cover and hat, and baby got a cute monkey onesie! They didn't go as low as we would expected because it is a cruise port so they know that they will sell a ton when those ships come in... which they do. Luckily a ship had not come in that day so it was easier and less crowded.
Saturday was beach and pool day. It was hot and beautiful, we played at the beach, had the best nachos and guac I have EVER tasted, and drank Miami Vice on our lounge chairs. The hotel was only about 35% full so it was so nice. We went to bed early that night exhausted from our fun we and because we had to get up at 430am to get to the airport.
We had a wonderful trip and had a ton of fun. I was so sad to come home to the cold and inversion but I was so nice sleeping in my comfy bed! Taylor didn't mind traveling and even said he do it again :). Our babymoon was successful and rejuvenating now it is time to buckle down and prepare for baby boy!
