Have you ever felt like you have the biggest decision of your life lying ahead of you and you have no idea which way to go? That is me right now.
This last Saturday I received a very unexpected letter in the mail. Taylor hands me a letter and said, "It's from Weber State Nursing". My initial thought was that it was about reapplying and all the other fun junk mail that you get. Well that was not the case. The letter said I had been accepted into the Weber State Associates Degree Nursing Program, starting January 2012. I was NOT expecting this. I had given up on being a nurse. I had completely accepted a new path of life and was very happily living it.
So now what do I do?! Do I continue on the path I am on now and the choices I have made and am looking forward to OR do I go after nursing school?
If I say on this path I could be done with college in May with my Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. This is SOO intriguing because I could be done! And then I could continue on with my life and the other adventures that await!
If I go to nursing school, I will cram the last 6 classes (20 credit hours) into 1 semester, graduate with my BS in December and then start nursing school in January. The drive is long, it will be extremely stressful, and it would be at least another year! So instead of graduating May 2012, it would be May 2013. But I would be able to fulfill the goal I have worked my whole college career for, the goal I have wanted as long as I can remember, to be a nurse!
I have been agonizing over this ever since I opened the letter. I have shed many tears, talked to LOTS of people, prayed, fasted, and pondered which decision to make. I still have absolutely NO IDEA what path I should take. I honestly feel like I am trying to choose between two great choices, neither decision would be bad, neither path would be a bad choice. So I keep asking what should I do? Taylor and I have talked and talked and talked, every moment we are thinking about what we should do!
I am trying to trust in the Lord and follow His will, but how do you choose between two great paths. I feel like I have to choose a path and then the Lord will support me and let me know if I am right. I will continue to pray and fast and ponder my future... hopefully I can figure it out pretty quickly!
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!! Wish me luck :)

Oh My JULY!
Happy 4th of July! I can't believe June is already over! It was a great month but went by way to fast, summer usually does. Tay and I were able to do a lot of fun things. I was in school but it went well, it was our 3rd year anniversary and that was way fun, we went to Bear Lake with friends and that was a ton of fun (pictures to come!), and my sister-in-law had a beautiful baby girl name Ann Rebecca Maxfield! She is super cute!
And then comes July. I cannot even say how busy July is going to be for us. 8 days! In July I have a total of 8 days that does not have something scheduled yet. Here is the schedule:
July 4: family and fun!
July 5th-8th: Girls Camp for me, California for Taylor
July 9th: test / Powell Prep
July 10th-17th: Lake Powell
July 19th: Ward Bridal Shower
July 20th: Family Pictures/ Young Women's
July 21st: Bridal Shower for Katelyn!
July 27th-30th: Camping with Maxfields
This does not include any of the work, call, or homework. This is going to be a very very crazy month but I am very excited for all the fun and craziness. Lets just hope we survive!

Happy Three Year Anniversary!
Three years ago...
I cannot believe it has been three years! Time sure flies! We have accomplished so many things in the short three years that we have been married!
We went to the melting pot for dinner, and it is so delicious! Then we went boating on our actual anniversary. I loved it. Out in the sun, skiing and doing the sky ski, it was exactly what we wanted. We got a six man camping tent for our anniversary present. I am way excited to use it. We wanted something Honda could fit in and would last a long time. Taylor also got me some perfume and I am getting his College Diploma framed! It was a great anniversary.

Westminster Graduate!
Congratulations Taylor on graduating from Westminster College! I am so proud of you and all that you have accomplished. Taylor graduated with Magna Cum Lada, a 3.8 gpa, high honors, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.
He graduated at 1:45 pm on Saturday May 28th, 2011 at the Maverick Center. We went to Westminster first and took a couple of pictures in his cap and gown before heading to the Maverick center for the actual ceremony. Here are some of the pictures.
I am so proud of you sweetheart!

Sick :( and School
I have been sick for what feels like forever! Really it has only been 10 days but it feels forever. It started with a cold, sore throat, and ear ache. Then it transformed to a sinus headache and it felt like it was turning into a sinus infection. But then the worst part... the cough. After being sick for a couple days I developed a cough. I have had bronchitis 2 times and this was worse. My sternum hurt so bad I thought I was going to die.
So I went to the doctor on Friday because work won't allow me to cough, they don't like sick employees around sick kids. Weird I know ;). The doctor gave me the worst news, the cough was still just a product of having a cold and it would go away in 7-10 days. :( That means no inhaler for bronchitis, no antibiotics, nothing but cough syrup. Well it has been 6 days since the cough came around and it has not gotten any better. I still have a few days to wait and see but knowing my luck it will turn into bronchitis or pneumonia if I am really lucky. So for now I just get to be miserable. Luckily, I have been able to work, which has been nice.
The worst part of being sick right now though is that I started my first summer semester. Yes, I have been in college for a while and this is the first time I have taken classes in the summer. I am so busy in the summer, going to Powell, girls camp, etc. that classes just didn't seem like a great idea. But if I want to graduate in May I have to take a couple classes this summer.
Luckily, I have 2 online classes and only 1 in class. My Monday night class is actually going to be pretty relaxed and fun. I was worried but it is going to be pretty chill and I am excited to learn.
Let's just hope my cold/cough/whatever it is goes away so it is easier to study!

Human Development and Familiy Studies
That is what I will be graduating in a year from now. After not getting into nursing school, I began to look at many different options. After running degree audit reports (DARS) on 10-15 different kinds of majors I was really frustrated. Nothing seemed like a good fit and I still had a long ways to go to get any kind of degree.
So I looked again. I feel like it was a prompting from the Lord. As I scrolled through the whole list of majors again the Human Development and Family Studies link caught my eye. I hadn't seen it in any of the 15 previous times of scrolling through the list but I am glad I looked again. After running the report I was only 9 classes away! I couldn't believe it, I was much closer then I thought and I could graduate by next year.
So then I looked at what I could do with this degree and it hit me, a Child Life Specialist! They are all over Primary Children's Hospital! I would still be able to work with children, be in the medical field, and help those in need. It takes a little extra work, because you have to get a certificate after the degree but it is only 2 more classes and some clinicals. That I can definitely do after I graduate in May.
I am all signed up for classes for this summer and fall. Leaving me only 3 classes to take in the spring and graduate in May. I am still going to apply to the UVU nursing program just to have an option but I am feeling very good about this path.
I feel like the Lord is pushing me toward the path that He knows is best for me, so I am trying to follow that path. I am grateful for the love that Heavenly Father has for me and I am trying my best to follow His will.
So here it goes, a completely new pathway of life... it'll be interesting to see what the next few months brings!

1st Lesson is Complete!!
I succeed and gave my first every church lesson. I didn't even pass out! :) I did get very nervous and the heart rate did go up (yes I check because I am weird like that). But it was a success. It was really lucky that we had a lot of announcements and items we had to complete before the lesson began because my lesson wasn't as long as I thought it was. I thought the girls would participate a lot more then the did but I know for next time and can make it a lot longer. I am glad it is over and I am glad that I did it, it was a good experience and I hope the YW learned something. If not I at least learned a lot :)
